Letterwinner Spotlight - Taylor reynolds
What does being a Letterwinner mean to you?
“Being a University of Michigan Letterwinner is an honor that I will cherish forever. When I became a Michigan student-athlete, years of hard work and dedication to the sport I love intersected with a time of massive growth and development that helped shape me into the woman that I am today. Being a Letterwinner is not just a jacket in my closet or an accolade I can put on my resume- it is a reminder that excellence is earned, not given, and I am always playing for something bigger than myself.”
What is a favorite Michigan memory of yours?
“My favorite Michigan memory is living with my best friends for 4 years!!”
How has your sport prepared you for your career?
“I am currently on a journey to becoming a Nurse-Midwife! During my time as an athlete, I discovered the reality and importance of the mind-body connection. I learned that visualization, intention, belief, and gratitude are imperative ingredients in sustained excellence. These are qualities that I am inspired to incorporate into my Women's Health practice!
Staying true to myself and living authentically is a muscle that my sport helped me develop and is one that I use daily in my career. There is no substitute for self-belief.”
What is your advice for upcoming grads?
“My biggest advice for upcoming grads is to not be discouraged if graduating and beginning a different career feels scary. In a lot of ways, you are starting over. Being a student-athlete will always be a part of you, but it is not the whole part. Take what you have learned from your time at Michigan, cherish the relationships and connections you have built, and let that launch you into the next chapter.”
