Letterwinner Spotlight - Joe reynolds
What does being a Letterwinner mean to you?
"Being a University of Michigan Letterwinner means that I achieved what I set out to do. It means that I had a vision, believed in myself, and accomplished my dream."
What is a favorite Michigan memory of yours?
"My favorite Michigan memory is when I scored a touchdown on the first play of my senior year in the Big House. I'll never forget looking up into the stands afterwards and seeing my family celebrating. It felt like years of hard work manifested in a singular moment that will stay with me for the rest of my life."
How has your sport prepared you for your career?
“At Michigan I chose to forfeit my track scholarship in order to walk onto the football team. The decision was one that several people in my life disagreed with, but I went through with it, owned my choice, and ended up earning a full-ride.
Staying true to myself and living authentically is a muscle that my sport helped me develop and is one that I use daily in my career. There is no substitute for self-belief."
What is your advice for upcoming grads?
“Focus on building great relationships. The rest will take care of itself. Also, marry a UM soccer player who makes you a better man."
